Question of the Week: 11/8/2022
In NEoWave Symmetrical patterns, what are the minimum and maximum price / time relationships allowed between waves?
Answer:
Unlike traditional Elliott Wave patterns (Flats, Zigzags, Triangles), Symmetricals and Diametrics DO NOT possess Fibonacci price or time relationships. It was this KEY characteristic of both patterns that allowed me to discover their existence.
In a NEoWave Symmetrical, the differences in Price and Time of "same direction" waves will be between 0% and 10% (so, if wave-A consumes 10 days, wave-C is likely to take 9, 10 or 11 days. Such extreme similarities of time are NOT allowed in Flats, Zigzags or Triangles. Because Symmetricals can "trend" fairly strongly up or down, there are no hard-and-fast rules addressing how adjacent waves in a Symmetrical will relate.
In Diametrics, the time differences between adjacent waves can range from 0% to about 15%. Because Diametrics tend to be less "trendy" than Symmetricals, you should see adjacent waves retracing comfortably MORE than 61.8% of the prior wave in order to avoid Fibonacci relationships.
